The School of Insurance Studies (SIS) promoted in 2002 has already established itself as the premier institutions maintaining highest standards of education and professional skills in the field of Insurance. SIS-NLU is engaged in providing quality learning experience and skill development opportunities to professionals. The Insurance Industry in India has tremendous growth potential in Life and Non-Life sectors, taking into account the low penetration and density of Insurance coverage compared to the developed economics. SIS-NLU intends to respond to the growing needs of Insurance Industry in India. The opening of Indian Economy has seen the liberlization of Insurance Industry after the passing of Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority bill in the year 1999. The intense competition amongst the players has led to highest ever growth rate in Insurance Industry. The next decade is going to witness phenomenal growth in the career graph of Insurance professionals. The Center provides opportunities for development of professional excellence, talent search & overall development through training and refresher courses. We have the young and dynamic team of faculty members who are moving with the vision of producing world class Insurance professionals. The Unique features of MBA (Insurance) programme are the dual specialization with Business Administration and Insurance, on the job training, project and research work. The course contents have exhaustive syllabus on Insurance subjects including Actuarial Science, Risk Management and Reinsurance besides all subjects generally taught in all post graduate management courses. Encouraged by the feed back from the Insurance Industry, we have introduced unique full term programme leading to a degree of Master of Science (Insurance) exclusively for Graduate Engineers. The qualified Engineers have great opportunities in General Insurance Sector as their Engineering back ground is most useful for the Industry for Risk inspection and Risk Management. There is ever increasing demand by the Insurance and allied services sectors for Engineers with Insurance background. This is the first of its kind programme by any recognized institution not only in India but whole of Asia. Only first class engineering students are eligible for admission to this specialized course. It is our earnest endeavour to provide all the inputs of Insurance discipline to our students/trainees so as to serve the complex needs of risk management of an organization.
